“To know yourself as the Being underneath the thinker, the stillness underneath the mental noise, the love and joy underneath the pain, is freedom, salvation, enlightenment”

My Story

As a therapist, my role is to empathically guide and empower my clients to explore their innate capabilities. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is founded on empathy, acceptance, safety, and mutual respect with each of my clients.

I have been working as a social worker at CHEO for over 18 years supporting individuals, couples, parents, families, youth and children with acute and chronic illnesses, new diagnosis, relationship issues and traumatic events. I have Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) and a dual Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Gerontology. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I am insured and bonded, and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) as well as a member of the Brainspotting Canada Association.

My approach is to bring warmth and empathy to clinical care while using a holistic and person-centered approach.  It is important to me to focus on the total well-being of the individual with whom I work with. I strive to help you strengthen healthy coping skills and/or teach you new strategies that better support you now in your current situation.

Services are offered in French and English. I offer a free 15 minute consultation. Let's talk about how I can help you along your path to live a fulfilling, authentic and aligned life.

What does working together look like?

Transitions and challenges are part of life, yet sometimes these changes are smooth while other times they can be overwhelming. The transitions of life during young adulthood, mid-life or in senior years, provide us with challenges and opportunities in defining and strengthening our sense of self and our relationships.

When someone experiences life changes such as grief, loss, relationship challenges, parenting, perinatal mental health, trauma and abuse, these situations can evoke feelings of anxiety and depression. I support my clients through challenges and life stressors by facilitating difficult but yet honest conversations in order to stimulate change and promote healthy coping strategies.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client. Making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

I believe that each individual is capable of growth and change, and as a psychotherapist, my role is to empathically guide and empower my clients to explore this innate capability. Therapeutic goals are explored and set collaboratively, with a core focus on the client’s individual goals and needs. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is founded on empathy, acceptance, safety, and mutual respect with each of my clients.

I work with youth and adults in various life transitions in both English and French. My approach is holistic and based on traditional talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centered and Brainspotting.

Brainspotting is a treatment that helps individuals by identifying, processing and releasing core neuropsychological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of challenging symptoms such as anxiety and depression.
